An Army Second Lieutenant stationed at Ft. Sill faced serious allegations of making unwanted advances after spending the night at a classmate’s residence, a decision made due to his intoxication after a social gathering. He received a General Officer Memorandum of Reprimand (GOMOR) for this incident and retained Tim Bilecki, a specialized attorney in Article 120 UCMJ sexual assault cases, for legal representation.
Bilecki conducted interviews with other Army officers and party attendees, the majority of whom provided an alibi for the Lieutenant. This evidence led to the prosecution team deciding not to press sexual assault charges. Instead, a GOMOR was issued for a separate matter unrelated to the assault allegations.
Bilecki’s investigation was comprehensive, involving witness interviews to construct a clear narrative of the events. He prepared a detailed challenge to the GOMOR, advocating strongly for the Second Lieutenant. This defense highlighted his integrity and questioned the credibility of the initial accusations, aiming to lessen their impact on his military career.
