- Benjamin Gold

Early Career And Education

Ben Gold holds a Bachelors of Science in Political Science from Loyola University New Orleans and a Juris Doctorate and Certification in Mediation and Conflict Resolution from the University of Hawaii’s William S. Richardson School of Law. Gold also founded Honor Capital and served as Managing Partner. For Gold, the decision to turn to study law would come after his military service. However, it was his military service that inspired him to later join with Bilecki in the fight against the abuse and misuse of the UCMJ. He would see what happened to service members who don’t fight back and just how ruinous it could be.

He was also stationed aboard the USS Gladiator, USS Sentry, and the USS Devastator. During his second division officer tour he was stationed aboard the USS Chosin where he serves as the ship’s Damage Control Assistant. Gold’s third and final trou was as the Operations Officer of 2- Troop, SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team ONE.

Legal Career and Contributions

Ben Gold met Tim Bilecki when he first clerked with Bilecki Law Group. It didn’t take Tim Bilecki long to recognize Gold’s unique ability to write, research and strategize during extremely complex cases. Once his clerkship was over, Bilecki was quick to bring on Gold as an associate attorney where the two have teamed up to make a formidable foe for any military prosecutor trying to roll over and destroy any service member’s life. Gold frequently offers up the best of his legal mind on the well-respected and popular Freakonomics podcast which draws over 3 million listeners each month.

Licensing and Personal Life

Ben Gold is licensed to practice law in Florida, Hawaii, and all U.S. military jurisdictions worldwide. This means that wherever the call may take him and wherever his unique acumen for research and writing can bring power to the case, Gold shows up to deliver. Bilecki and Gold stepping onto the tarmac is a site military prosecutors dread to see. When he is not matching wits with military prosecutors, Gold enjoys surfing, diving, and can be described in every facet as an all-around waterman. What else would we expect from Bilecki Law Group’s very own Navy Surface Warfare veteran.
