Threesome Leads to Sex Assault Case for Air Force SSgt, Averts Charges

Sexual Assault
Kadena AFB, Okinawa
Air Force Staff Sergeant – E-5
No charges were preferred.

In July 2019, an Air Force Staff Sergeant stationed at Kadena Air Force Base fell under investigation for an alleged sexual assault stemming from a threesome incident. The Complaining Witness, who had continued a relationship with the other male participant for several months following the event, later accused both men of sexual assault to the Office of Special Investigations (OSI).

In response to these allegations, the Staff Sergeant retained Tim Bilecki, a military defense attorney for Article 120 UCMJ sexual assault. Bilecki’s defense team conducted a detailed investigation, including interviewing witnesses and uncovering a potential motive to fabricate.  Their investigation revealed inconsistencies and evidence that countered the allegations, suggesting that they were fabricated. The defense also engaged with the prosecution to present their finding and were able to keep the case from going to a court martial.
