Case Result: Sexual Harassment/Assault Response

Sexual Assault
Kadena AFB, Okinawa
Air Force | Staff Sergeant, E-5
No Charges Preferred

In our line of work, the pursuit of truth and evidence often leads us to some of the wildest stories that would have otherwise been lost to the annals of time. In this particular case, the story involved a wild threesome that started out as an epic military history memory and turned into a nightmare because it took place in the era of Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP).

The incident took place at Kadena AFB. A female service member engaged in a threesome with our client, an Air Force Staff Sergeant, and another male. Now, if you find that bizarre we encourage you to head across the island to Camp Hansen and see what the Marines are accused of doing. Then, you’ll know the meaning of bizarre.

After the threesome, the female continued a relationship with the other male while the Air Force Staff Sergeant went about his business with but a night to remember. The problem came when for motives of her own, the female then accused both men of sexual assault and reported the incident to the Office of Special Investigations (OSI). The Staff Sergeant knew it was bullshit, but in the era of SHARP he knew he needed help.

The Staff Sergeant retained court martial lawyer Tim Bilecki and we immediately launched our own investigation. We turned over every stone and interviewed every witness we could find. Meanwhile, the command and prosecution was ignoring such evidence and just gearing up to ruin the life of another innocent service member. We denied them that ability. We identified multiple inconsistencies that countered the allegations and provided evidence that suggested the allegations were unfounded. We approached the prosecution with our findings and though they were disappointed they didn’t get to go in for the kill, they had no choice but drop the issue of preferring charges. Our client wouldn’t face court martial, jail, or the end of his career as a result. The other guy involved in the threesome did not retain us, but he was the indirect beneficiary of our work. After all, that’s how threesomes are supposed to work we suppose.
